About Game

Classic Chess is a turn-based board game for two players played on an 8x8 grid with 64 squares. Each player starts with 16 pieces: one king, one queen, two knights, two rooks, two bishops and eight pawns. The game follows traditional chess rules, where each piece has unique movement and capturing abilities. The main objective is to checkmate the opponent’s king by placing it under an unavoidable threat of capture. You can play against an AI bot or challenge a real opponent on the same device or online.

How to play

The goal of chess is to checkmate your opponent’s king, putting it under direct attack with no legal move to escape. Each player controls 16 pieces, and players move one piece per turn following classic chess rules.

The king moves one square in any direction, but cannot move into check. The queen moves any number of squares along ranks, files or diagonals, combining the power of rook and bishop. Rooks move any number of squares horizontally or vertically on clear lines. Bishops move any number of squares diagonally on clear lines. Knights move in an “L” shape: two squares in one direction and then one perpendicular square, and they can jump over other pieces. Pawns move forward one square (or two squares from their initial rank if unobstructed) and capture diagonally forward one square.

Players alternate turns, developing pieces, controlling key squares and protecting their own king. You can choose to play against an AI bot that uses classic chess logic to respond to your moves, or against a real opponent, applying strategy and tactics to outplay them and deliver checkmate.
